Vietnam has become the second largest exporter of smartphones after China.

The country has surpassed India in this indicator, which has been paying great attention to the export of smartphones in recent years.

By 2022, Vietnam increased its share of smartphone exports in the global market to 12%, while India was only seventh with 2.5%. It even displaced South Korea as the second-largest smartphone exporter.

Vietnam has been attracting companies seeking to reduce their dependence on China for years. China, in turn, remains the leader. China exports half of the world's smartphones.

Vietnam's rapid growth is due to the rapid development of the smartphone market in the US, which is the world's largest importer of mobile phones. From 2018 to 2022 Vietnam's share of US smartphone imports increased from 9% to 18%. Other major exporters of smartphones in the world include Hong Kong, the UAE, the Czech Republic, and the USA.
