In the boys under 16 category, in the 6th round, two tournament leaders will meet at the first board - multiple winner of the Turkmen championships in various age categories Ilhan Charyev and also one of the contenders for gold Arslan Hudayberdiyev (both Lebap), who have 4.5 points each. A schoolboy from Ashgabat, Resul Begmyradov, is half a point behind the leaders, who was able to win the main favorite of the tournament - the national champion among schoolchildren under 17, Serdar Bayramov, who currently has 3.5 points. Last year's champion of the same category, Sanjar Gaybullaev, who also has 3.5 points, is still not very confident in the tournament distance.

In the age category among girls under 18 with 4 points, the candidate for the FIDE master among women Leyla Shohradova (Lebap) and world champion and multiple medalist of international tournaments Bagul Ezizova (Mary) are in the lead. Lala Shohradova, the main favorite of the FIDE women's Master tournament, is half a point behind the leaders, who will play against Bagul in the 6th round with black pieces.

In the age category among boys under 18, the main fight for the championship is led by the champion and vice-champion of the recent championship of Turkmenistan among juniors under 20, Amanmuhammet Hommadov and Ahmet Gubatayev (both Ashgabat), who drew in a face-to-face meeting. Five players are half a point behind the leaders at once - Azizbek Matyakubov (Dashoguz), Azim Saryev (Ashgabat), Maksat Myradov (Lebap), Bayram Bayramov (Ahal) and Halim Geldimyradov.

Three players are in the lead with 4.5 points – the national champion among schoolchildren under 11 years old and the silver medalist of the championship among boys under 12 years old Alihan Batyrov (Mary), the national blitz champion among boys under 12 years old Tahir Iminov and the bronze medalist of the national championship among boys under 12 years old Emir Berdiyev. Nine pursuers are half a point behind the leaders, including last year's champion of the same category Gurbanmyrat Rustemov (Lebap), champion among schoolchildren under 13 Ali Ahmedov (Ashgabat), champion among boys under 10 Omarbek Ismailov (Dashoguz), as well as players with great potential brothers Mahmut and Davut Meredov (Ashgabat) and Ahmet Artykov (Mary).

The classic time control tournament will end on February 8, and the rapid championship in the same age categories will be held on February 9. On the final day, February 10, the participants will compete in blitz. In total, more than 200 young chess players take part in the championship.
