A tennis player from Turkmenistan won the title of champion of Central and West Asia among juniors under 14 years old
22.01.2024 | 13:10 |At the qualifying championship of Central and West Asia among juniors under 14, which ended in Muscat (Oman), a tennis player from Turkmenistan, Ilima Huseynova, won a gold medal, becoming the holder of the title of champion. The competition was held in two stages with the participation of representatives of 13 countries.
In doubles, partnering with Aylara Kakabayeva, Ilima was awarded two "silver" medals.
In the quarterfinals, the 13-year-old first racket of Turkmenistan managed to take over Tali Essam Ali Al Busaidi from Oman – 6:0, 6:0, in the semifinals — Asalom Farahbodni from Iran – 6:2, 6:2. And in the final, Ilima surpassed another representative of Iran, Khanu Shabanpour – 6:4, 6:4.
