The English Premier League has sold the rights to broadcast matches for a UK record €7.8 billion, reports the Daily Mail.
The cost of the new agreement, which was concluded with Sky Sports and TNT Sports, is 4% more than the previous contract.
To date, no other European football league has achieved such figures.
The contract is valid for four years: from 2025 to 2029. According to the source, Sky Sports has acquired the rights to show the majority of Premier League matches - 215 games per season. TNT Sports retained rights to broadcast Saturday afternoon matches. Thus, the broadcaster will be able to show 52 meetings annually.
