 The head of Turkmenistan held meetings with representatives of foreign business

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Tuesday held a series of meetings with representatives of foreign business circles who arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit to celebrate Independence Day.

In particular, the head of state received chairman of the joint-stock company CLAAS (Germany), chairman of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, Katrina Klaas-Mühlhäuser.

CLAAS has been effectively interacting with Turkmenistan for many years, supplying agricultural machinery that is widely used in the country’s fields, and promoting personnel training - training centers of the German company have been opened in two Turkmen specialized universities.

The parties highly appreciated the results of the partnership and confirmed the existence of prospects for its expansion.

During the meeting of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with Tatsuya Watanabe, senior adviser on strategic issues at Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd, it was stated the successful interaction of Japanese specialists with the State Concerns “Turkmenhimiya” and “Turkmengaz”, which was embodied in the construction of large production enterprises.

The head of Turkmenistan expressed reciprocal interest in the proposals of Japanese partners for the implementation of new projects in the chemical and oil and gas industries, including increasing the production capacity of phosphorus, ammonia, urea and gasoline from natural gas.

During a conversation with the head of the largest French company Cifal, Gilles Remy, Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized Turkmenistan’s interest in attracting advanced scientific and technical achievements and innovative developments and noted the experience gained in cooperation with this long-time partner in the implementation of large-scale projects.

Currently, a number of French companies, in cooperation with Cifal, are successfully operating in such sectors of the Turkmen economy as construction, oil and gas industry, and aviation industry. Today, Turkmenistan is aimed at introducing high technologies in all areas, the head of state said, focusing on the processes of digitalization of agriculture, the use of water-saving and “green” approaches. In this regard, the Turkmen side is ready to consider specific proposals from French companies.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov also received Director General of the French company CARPI Tech, Francois Tronel, and its honorary president, Alberto Maria Squero, who visited Ashgabat for the first time these holidays. On this occasion, they expressed admiration for the appearance of the Turkmen capital.

The President of Turkmenistan and his guests exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation, in particular in the field of construction of water supply systems.

Leaders of CARPI Tech CARPI, which has global experience and reputation in waterproofing and protecting all types of hydraulic structures using synthetic geomembranes, noted the exceptional attractiveness of the Turkmen market, where the implementation of projects for the development of agricultural irrigation and water resource management is planned.

Turkmenistan is also interested in using advanced practices in this area and is open to fruitful cooperation and innovation, the head of state noted.
