The meeting, which took place on September 20 in Brussels, where the headquarters of the Eurochamber is located, was also attended by chief executive officer of this organization, Ben Butters.
During the dialogue, the ambassador extensively informed the interlocutors about the numerous opportunities for doing European business in Turkmenistan and highlighted potential areas of cooperation between Eurochambres and the Turkmen Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is one of the key facilitators of the interests of the country’s broad business community. TCCI provides a platform and necessary support for entrepreneurs, facilitating the export of domestic goods and services to international markets.
In turn, Vladimir Dloukhi presented an overview of the activities of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry, noting that the organization maintains connections not only with EU member countries, but also with other states. In this context, the prospects for holding joint events and forums were considered that would attract the attention of the business communities of both sides and would contribute to the establishment of a specialized platform for further commercial interaction.
One of the results of the negotiations was the general opinion that the initiation of a videoconference between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of
Turkmenistan and Eurochambres would be a favorable step in establishing mutually beneficial relations between the two organizations.
Founded in 1958 in response to the creation of the European Economic Community, Eurochambres is a vast network of over 20 million businesses and 1,700 regional and local chambers across Europe. It is worth noting that more than 93% of these enterprises are small and medium-sized enterprises, which collectively employ more than 120 million people.
