The results of the Turkmenistan Tennis Championship were summed up in Ashgabat
19.09.2023 | 17:01 |Turkmenistan's championship among adults and the country's tennis championship among juniors under 14 and 18 years old have ended in Ashgabat. During the week, 273 athletes from different regions of the country competed for awards on the courts of the capital's tennis center.
The championship among juniors under 14 was one of the stages of selection for the national team for the international tournament, which will be held in Uzbekistan from October 14 to 28. The best young tennis players from Central Asia and other regions will perform at it.
Following the results of the championship of Turkmenistan, the teams for participation in the Davis Cup, which will be held from October 16 to 23 in Turkey, were determined. Teams from 8 countries will take part in this prestigious tournament: Turkmenistan, Syria, Kuwait, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Guam, Singapore, United Arab Emirates.
Ilima Huseynova won the gold medal in the national championship among girls under 14. Sabrina Rahmanova received the silver medal. The bronze medal was won by Jennet Charyeva.
Imran Akhundov became the best among boys under the age of 14. He defeated Selim Chagylov in the final and won the gold medal. Resul Mammetkurbanov finished third.
Ilima Huseynova took the first place among girls under 18. She became a three-time champion of Turkmenistan in different age categories. The second place went to Rojan Karajayeva. Aisha Bikbulatova took the third place.
Selim Perjikov became the winner among boys under 18 years of age. He beat Imran Akhundov in the final and received a gold medal. The third was Didar Vepamuradov.
Ilima Huseynova celebrated the victory in the championship of Turkmenistan among girls under 18 and older. The second place was taken by Sabrina Rahmanova. The third place went to Rojan Karajayeva.
Among boys under 18 and older, Meylis Orazmuhammedov became the champion of Turkmenistan. The second place was taken by Yuri Rogussky, the third place was taken by Atlymyrat Gurbanov.
In the women's doubles, the pair Rojan Karajayeva / Aisha Bikbulatova won. The second place was taken by the pair of Ilima Huseynova / Jennet Charyeva.
Among men, the victory was celebrated by the pair Yuri Rogussky / Atlymurat Gurbanov. The second place was taken by the pair Gurbanberdi Gurbanberiyev / Hajymyrat Charyev.
The tennis tournament in Ashgabat was held at a high level and showed the development of this sport in Turkmenistan.
