Japan has allocated $2 million for the development of agriculture in the Aral Sea region
13.09.2023 | 21:21 |The Japanese authorities have allocated a grant of $ 2 million for the rehabilitation of agriculture in the Aral Sea region. A project to improve the standard of living of the population of the Aral Sea region was launched by UNDP in Uzbekistan.
The signing ceremony of the protocol of exchange of notes and the project document took place in Tashkent at the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan on September 12. The same day is considered the day of the launch of the project into life, reports Podrobno.uz .
More than 376,000 Uzbek farmers from four districts of the country will participate in the program. The project involves the introduction of sustainable farming methods, ensuring access to clean water and sustainable energy, ensuring food security, as well as supporting local communities in developing development plans.
The project will use Japan's experience in the use of innovative agricultural technologies, including alternative energy sources, the development of new products and the expansion of farming business.
