Russia has refused to take part in the Central Asian Football Association tournament
19.04.2023 | 14:07 |The Russian national football team refused to participate in the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) championship. This was stated by the Secretary General of the Russian Football Union Maxim Mitrofanov, reports TASS.
"We have sent an official letter to the CAFA, notified colleagues. We have a number of organizational difficulties, unfortunately, we were forced to give up. There are some issues between us and the CAFA related to the fact that there is a big load on the players, it is hot, a small break between the 11th and 15th," Mitrofanov said.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian national team will perform at the tournament, which will be held in Bishkek and Tashkent from June 9 to 21 with the participation of the member countries of the Football Association of Central Asia: Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan.
