A New Digital Era: Türkiye Prepares for Full-Scale 5G Rollout
13.10.2025 | 08:50 |Türkiye is preparing for a full-scale launch of 5G technology, which is expected to enter everyday life across the country starting in April 2026, transforming sectors such as industry, healthcare, agriculture, transportation, and education.
According to Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, the frequency allocation tender will take place on October 16, 2025. Eleven lots in the 700 MHz and 3.5 GHz bands will be offered, covering a total spectrum width of 400 MHz, with a minimum starting price of approximately $2.125 billion.
The ministry also confirmed that 5G services will begin to be provided starting April 1, 2026.
The network rollout is expected to provide an additional economic boost for Türkiye: by 2030, it is projected to contribute $100 billion to the economy and create up to 1.5 million new jobs, according to the Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure.
Pilot 5G deployments are already underway in limited areas, including Istanbul Airport, major football stadiums, parliamentary buildings, and around 30 other sites across the country.
