 New Ambassador of Argentina arrives in Ashgabat

On Thursday, newly appointed Ambassador of the Argentine Republic Eduardo Antonio Zuain handed over to Gulshat Mammedova, Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, his credentials addressed to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov by Argentine leader Alberto Fernandez.

On behalf of the head of Turkmenistan, the speaker of the national parliament congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and wished him success in his responsible mission. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for Turkmen-Argentine cooperation, paying attention also to the inter-parliamentary dialogue.

Also on this day, the Ambassador of Argentina was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan by Vice Minister Vepa Khadzhiev. The diplomats considered the possibilities of developing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, expressed interest in intensifying joint work in the fields of culture, sports and healthcare, and also discussed interactions through international organizations.

Eduardo Antonio Zuine has been the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to the Russian Federation since 2021 and concurrently to the Republic of Belarus, in April 2022 he assumed the post of Ambassador of his country to Kazakhstan, and in June of the same year - to Uzbekistan. The ambassador's residence is in Moscow.

Turkmenistan established diplomatic relations with Argentina on September 24, 1992.
