China daily: Xi Jinping's visit to Russia will strengthen global stability

This is the second time that Xi Jinping chooses Russia as his first foreign trip after being elected chairman.
During the visit, Xi Jinping is expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and discuss issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest.
Over the past decade, the leaders of the two states have held 40 bilateral meetings, during which a strategic consensus was reached in such areas as improving bilateral relations, ensuring regional security and stability.
According to the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Ivan Melnikov, the diplomacy of the heads of state is a new type of relationship, when both countries enter a new era and influence the future of the world.
In turn, the chairman of the expert commission of the Russian-Chinese Friendship, Peace and Development Committee, Yuri Tavrovsky, noted that strengthening strategic coordination and mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries will be important not only for the development of bilateral relations, but also for strengthening global and regional peace and stability.
