Oriented on making people closer

Solemn events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet, classic and thinker of the East Magtymguly Pyragy were held in Uzbekistan on March 14-15. The cultural action, which was attended by delegations of the two countries, unfolded in the Khorezm region, according to the Turkmen Embassy in Uzbekistan, which organized the action.

The two–day cultural program turned out to be rich - the events began with the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Magtymguly Pyragy - bridge of Turkmen-Uzbek friendship". Speakers at the forum noted that today scientists and literary critics in many countries of the world are studying the work of the famous Turkmen poet, and events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great classic will be held both in Turkmenistan and in other countries, including Uzbekistan, where Magtymguly poetry is very much loved and appreciated. As a sign of proof, a presentation of a collection of poems by Magtymguly in Uzbek was held.

As you know, the Turkmen poet received his education at the Shirgazy madrasah, which is located in the historical city of Khiva, where the participants of the meeting went on an excursion. They also visited the Ichan Kala memorial complex there.

Then flowers were laid at the modern memorial of Magtymguly Pyragy, installed in the courtyard of the "House of Turkmen-Uzbek Friendship". The delegates visited this unique monument, which is located on the territory of the historical and cultural complex "Uly Khovly" in the Urgench district of Khorezm region.
