The Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN, Aksoltan Atayeva, met with the UN Assistant Secretary-General for the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific region, Khaled Hiari, the official website of the permanent mission reports.
The guest highly appreciated the neutral foreign policy of Turkmenistan and the initiatives put forward by the country within the framework of the UN to preserve and promote peaceful and trusting interstate relations.
In this regard, the huge potential for expanding Turkmenistan's cooperation with UN structures on strengthening peace and security in Central Asia and at the global level was noted.
It should be noted that in accordance with the resolution of the UN General Assembly on the initiative of Turkmenistan, 2023 was declared the "International Year of Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace". Turkmenistan has also initiated the creation of a permanent Forum on Security, peace and Development in Central Asia.
