In Russia, drivers for throwing garbage out of the car will be punished with ruble

From January 11, the Russian Federation will begin issuing fines to drivers for throwing garbage out of a car, truck, trailer on the side of the road or in the forest. The sanctions come into force in accordance with the amendments made to the Code of Administrative Offenses, Kommersant writes.

Article 8.2 of the document entitled “Failure to comply with environmental requirements when handling production and consumption waste” for leaving waste outside specially designated places provides for a fine of up to five thousand rubles.

If the garbage was thrown out of the car, the amount of the fine varies from 30 thousand to 100 thousand rubles, depending on the legal status of the violator. But for unloading garbage from a truck, the fine ranges from 75 thousand to 200 thousand rubles.

Violations are allowed to be recorded using automatic cameras, and fines can be issued by police officers and employees of the State Forest Supervision. Penalty receipts will be sent by mail to the car owner after recognizing the state number of the violator's car. That is, the same mechanism will be used, which is used by the traffic police to deal with violators of traffic rules, the newspaper notes.
