Turkmen engineers test the efficiency of solar panels in new conditions

The Research and Production Center "Renewable Energy Sources" of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan checks the relevance of the use of 120 watt LED lamps in arid climates, whose power supply is provided by solar panels.

This was told by the postgraduate student of the Institute Amirhan Matyakubov in an article for the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

At the moment, 15 units of such lamps have already been installed. The RPC with the participation of students measures the amount of battery charging and how much it is enough, and also studies the influence of ambient temperature on the performance of solar panels.

Low productivity in cloudy weather is compensated by energy independence, environmental friendliness and cost-effectiveness, as well as the possibility of use in remote areas during the construction of highways in the field, during oil and gas production and during geological exploration. The possibility of their use by livestock breeders in the camps and in small settlements of the Garagum is also allowed.

According to the specialists of the center, today lighting devices are used in the urban environment, which are equipped with high-pressure discharge lamps of various types, characterized by high heat dissipation, but low efficiency. To make the transfer of street lighting to a more environmentally friendly way is a matter of the near future.
