Oriented on making people closer

Weightlifter from Turkmenistan Maksad Meredov won a bronze medal in the weight category of 73 kg (group "A") at the Youth World Championships held these days in the city of Suva, Fiji.

In the sum of the doubles, Maksad lifted a bronze 312 kg. In the “push” discipline, a Turkmen citizen was one step away from a second bronze medal, taking only fourth place with a score of 173 kg. In the snatch, he mastered 139 kg.

The first place in this weight category was taken by the weightlifter from the USA, Clarence Cummings, the second was Moldovan Marin Robu.

About 250 athletes from all over the world gathered at the youth championship of Fiji. Turkmenistan is represented by 5 weightlifters - Bunyad Rashidov (67 kg), Maksad Meredov (73 kg), Shatlyk Shohradov (81kg), Polina Gurieva (64 kg), and Azat Serdarov (96 kg).

Bunyad Rashidov made a speech yesterday and finished sixth.
