 Prospects of renewable energy in Central Asia to be discussed in Dushanbe

The regional Conference "Prospects for the Development of Renewable Energy in Central Asian countries" will be held in Dushanbe next week, June 2-4.

The purpose of the conference is to promote the development of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency in Central Asia, the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan reports on its official website.

The forum's agenda includes such tasks as identifying specific measures to support government agencies to improve legislation; finding the most suitable business models aimed at developing renewable energy and attracting investment; familiarization with the best international practices for promoting renewable energy and organizing a platform for cooperation.

The conference is organized by the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) project "Energy of Central Asia", the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Renewable Energy Association of Tajikistan and the NGO "Nerui Toza".

At the meeting, the experience of the countries of the region on the assessment of solar and wind resources will be studied in depth.

The event will allow to activate the activities of these countries to develop the existing potential for the use of renewable energy. In addition, the meeting will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences and develop recommendations for intensifying and strengthening efforts to achieve the goals and objectives of sustainable development in the field of energy.

Representatives of UNDP, USAID, the World Bank, ADB, EBRD, as well as other international and regional organizations and financial institutions, business and academic circles, environmental non-governmental organizations, and civil society are invited to participate in the conference.

Meanwhile, the 6th Annual International Congress and Exhibition "Hydropower Central Asia and the Caspian 2022", which opened on May 25, has ended in Dushanbe today.
