 Giornata del made in Italy: Celebrating Italian craftsmanship and creativity

Made in Italy Day, celebrated annually on April 15, is a celebration of the rich heritage of Italian design, fashion, cuisine, technology and much more. It is a day to recognize the outstanding achievements of Italian craftsmen, artists, entrepreneurs and innovators over the centuries.

Why April 15?

The date of celebration was not chosen by chance. It coincides with the birthday of great Italian polymath Leonardo da Vinci (1452), who personified innovation, creativity and craftsmanship. They are the basis of the Made in Italy brand.

How is Made in Italy Day celebrated in Turkmenistan?

The first Made in Italy Day event in Turkmenistan was organized on April 15, the day when other Italian diplomatic missions around the world celebrate it.

Ambassador of Italy to Turkmenistan Luigi Ferrari, welcoming those who came to the celebration, thanked the management of the Arkach trade and commercial center for the opportunity to host this event.

“Today, we celebrate Italian creativity and excellence. With a GDP of over 1.8 trillion euros and a population of approximately 60 million people, Italy is the third largest economy in the eurozone and the eighth largest in the world. Italy is the 8th largest exporter in the world, selling goods and services worth about 516 billion euros (32% of GDP) with a share of 2.71% of the global export market,” the Ambassador noted.

He said that Italian goods and services are among the world market leaders in all sectors: energy, engineering, agricultural products, commercial and consumer goods, fashion, industrial design and consulting services.

“I firmly believe that there is great potential for increased commercial contacts between our two countries. Especially given the opening of direct flights between Milan and Ashgabat for the first time in the history of our relations, this certainly provides an opportunity for many Turkmen businessmen to establish direct ties with Italian manufacturers,” the diplomat also emphasized.

The event was also attended by Azat Meredov, who is the coordinator of the Italian Trade Agency in Ashgabat. The agency is responsible for assisting interested Turkmen entrepreneurs in finding Italian business partners.

Turkmen entrepreneurs collaborating with partners from Italy were also invited to the celebration, who in turn shared their success story. Among them were representatives of such brands in Turkmenistan as:

Paul & Shark - known primarily for its high-quality casual clothing with a nautical theme;

Moreschi is best known for its luxury footwear, handcrafted from natural materials of the highest quality;

Ermenegildo Zegna - known for high-quality men's clothing;

Stefano Ricci - known for its high-quality clothing, accessories, shoes and perfumes for men;

Benetton - known for its bright and colorful clothing, innovative advertising campaigns and commitment to sustainable development;

Versace is known for its luxurious and glamorous designs, which often include bright colors, bold prints and luxurious materials. Versace is also known for its accessories line, which includes bags, shoes, belts and jewelry;

Muzetti, which uses only selected Arabica and Robusta beans, carefully selected and roasted by experienced craftsmen.

To celebrate this day, all participants were invited to a buffet.
