Oriented on making people closer

A solemn event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi was held at the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Istanbul.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the scientific intelligentsia, famous writers and public figures of Turkey, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, students and the media.

In his welcoming speech, the Consul General of Turkmenistan in Turkey Muhammetnur Ovezov introduced those present to the successes of the country achieved over the years of independence in various fields. The Turkmen diplomat also noted the significance effect of Magtymguly’s immortal heritage on the culture of Turkmenistan and many other states.

Then, young poetry connoisseurs read out the poems of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi.

Guests also visited an exhibition of paintings dedicated to the life and work of Magtymguly Fragi. It also presented publications with his works, samples of Turkmen national clothing and applied art products.
