The first meeting of the Ministerial economic and energy dialogue, created within the framework of the Central Asia + Japan dialogue, was held in Tokyo on Wednesday in a hybrid format. Turkmenistan was represented at the meeting by the Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmengaz", State Minister Maksat Babayev.
The meeting was also attended by the Ministers of Energy and Natural Resources of the Central Asian states, as well as the heads of diplomatic missions of the countries of the region. The meeting was chaired by Nishimura Yasutoshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.
The Turkmen side informed about the policy and measures taken at the government level to prevent climate change. They presented the planned projects related to the transition to environmentally friendly energy sources and the reduction of harmful emissions, and expressed their willingness to cooperate and study the experience of the Japanese side in this direction.
As a result of the dialogue, a joint declaration was adopted, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
