During a Cabinet of Ministers meeting held on April 24, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved proposals to expand state support for the domestic agribusiness sector. This new package of measures is aimed at stimulating private initiatives within key sectors related to food security.
Priority areas for financing include: the development of livestock and poultry farming; the establishment of facilities for the production and deep processing of agricultural products; and the expansion of the service sector in rural areas.
Deputy Prime Minister Khojamurat Geldimyradov, who oversees the economic bloc, reported that the financing mechanisms for these new investment projects are now ready. It is expected that these measures will not only boost import substitution volumes but also create new jobs in the regions—a key component of the strategy to improve the standard of living for the rural population.
The President emphasized that state support for producers remains a priority and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure the effective implementation of the proposed financial instruments.
