Ashgabat and Canberra open up prospects for interaction: meetings in the Australian government

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Australia, Atadurdy Bayramov, who took up his duties, held a number of working meetings with senior representatives of the Australian government.
The prospects for cooperation and the possibility of organizing mutual visits at the highest level, as well as holding consultations between foreign ministries, were discussed with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia Tim Watts.

Points of intersection of interests were identified at a meeting with Deputy Secretary for the South and Southeast Asia Group and head of the Southeast Asia Bureau of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Michelle Chan. Ambassador Bayramov discussed the potential for academic and inter-university exchanges with Deputy Secretary of the Australian Department of Education Vanessa Lapthorne.

Cooperation in the field of ecology, including technology transfer for more efficient use of natural resources and the fight against climate change, was the topic of conversation between the Turkmen diplomat and Advisor to the Minister for Climate Change and Energy of Australia, Michael Belchamber.

The meetings took place as an important step in expanding diplomatic relations between the two countries, as noted in a press release from the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
