Residents of Remote Villages in Ahal Region Gain Access to Modern Communications

Residents of the villages of Ataguýy and Böri in the Derweze Gengeshlik of Gökdepe District, Ahal Region, have gained access to modern telephone and internet services. The project was implemented by the Ahaltelekom enterprise using the resources of the national satellite «TürkmenÄlem 52°E».
The launch of digital infrastructure in these villages provides local residents with direct practical opportunities. They can now use electronic government services, make digital payments without travelling to the district center, access online education, and develop small businesses.
The connection of the villages of Ataguýy and Böri represents another step in implementing the state programme for the digitalization of Turkmenistan’s regions. The use of the «TürkmenÄlem 52°E» satellite’s capabilities helps effectively address the task of providing high-quality communications even to the country’s most remote settlements.
