The participation of Dutch businesses in the modernization of maritime infrastructure, the introduction of innovative technologies in shipbuilding and healthcare, and the implementation of environmental projects to reduce methane emissions form a pressing agenda for bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. An important humanitarian vector of cooperation is the joint development of horse breeding traditions, a striking example of which was the holding of the Akhal-Teke World Beauty Championship and International Equestrian Competitions in the Dutch province of Limburg, which contribute to strengthening social and cultural ties between the countries.

These and other issues of practical cooperation, as well as ways to intensify dialogue between Turkmenistan and the European Union, were the subject of discussions in The Hague, where Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Christoffer Jonker, Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Netherlands on Foreign Affairs and Defense.

During the exchange of views on the international agenda, the Turkmen side emphasized the priority of preventive diplomacy and legal mechanisms of neutrality, and also confirmed its readiness to facilitate visits by the heads of leading Dutch companies to Ashgabat for substantive meetings with relevant agencies and business circles.
