Indian companies explore business opportunities in Central Asia


Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Delhi Shalar Geldynazarov took part in the business forum "Business Opportunities in the Central Asian Region", organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting brought together heads of diplomatic missions of the Central Asian countries in India, heads of relevant departments of the ministries of foreign affairs, trade, small and medium-sized businesses, as well as representatives of local firms and companies.
Geldynazarov noted the positive cooperation between Turkmenistan and India in the implementation of major international projects such as the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline, the development of transport and logistics cooperation under the Ashgabat Agreement and the North-South International Transport Corridor.
The Ambassador drew the attention of Indian businessmen to the advantages of the investment climate in Turkmenistan, the processes of diversification of the country's economy, national environmental policy, citing as an example the "smart" city of Arkadag, where advanced technologies have found their embodiment in creating an environmentally friendly and socially inclusive urban environment.
Referring to the agreements reached at the highest level, the diplomat emphasized the great potential for mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and India in such areas as the oil and gas industry, transport and communications, the agro-industrial complex, the chemical and textile industries, and IT technologies, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
