Berdimuhamedov inspects the road objects of Ashgabat, reprimands the mayor and releases the head of the district
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a regular inspection the situation at construction sites in Ashgabat, on Saturday, visited the construction of a road tunnel, which is being built at the intersection of the central avenues of the capital – A. Niyazov and S. Turkmenbashi.
Deputy Prime Minister Shamuhamet Durdiliyev, who is in charge with construction and industrial spheres in the Turkmen government, and Mayor of Ashgabat Yaztagan Gylyjov informed the Head of the state about this facility, which is intended to ease auto flow and improve traffic in this area of the city.
The number of car tunnels in Ashgabat has increased several times in recent years, and this, in turn, has significantly facilitated and accelerated – several times – travel around the city, making it safer. Whereupon, the requirements for transport and communication infrastructure, its flow capacity as well as the number of vehicles on the roads of the Turkmen capital are constantly growing.
The President paid attention not only to the technical characteristics of the site under modernization – intersection with round interchange, tunnel and pedestrian underpasses, but also to the aesthetic development of the surrounding territory.
Further, Berdimuhamedov continued the trip, having gone toward the northern part of the capital. And here, the Head of state took notice of modernization of road leading to the Choganly residential estate. The President expressed discontent with many aspects, including arrangement of green spaces, environmental standards, etc.
On outcomes of the working visit, the President of Turkmenistan has released the head of administration of the northern district of the capital – Berkararlykskiy – from his post, and also reprimanded the Mayor of Ashgabat for loss of control of works for entrusted areas of activity. Berdimuhamedov demanded the head of the capital’s administration to correct the situation in the right direction as soon as possible.
