Tourism startups in Uzbekistan will receive subsidies up to 1 billion soums

A Cabinet of Ministers resolution on state support for innovations in the tourism sector has entered into force in Uzbekistan, Yuz.uz reports.
Entrepreneurs creating new services and products for travelers will be able to reimburse up to 50% of their development costs — with the maximum subsidy amount reaching 1 billion soums. The main selection criteria are the relevance of the project to the market and its uniqueness.
Funding is allocated from the Tourism Support Fund. Annually, an expert commission will select up to 10 of the most promising ideas. The program aims to digitalize the industry and attract new flows of tourists to the region.
