A delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the ninth meeting of the High-Level Expert Group on Tourism of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), currently being held in the city of Shusha. During the international forum, Gulshat Bakiyeva, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department under the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, shared her impressions of the visit and emphasized the strategic importance of cooperation between brotherly nations.
The representative noted the deep historical and cultural ties between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, which serve as a solid foundation for expanding tourism relations. Particular attention was given to the unique natural landscape and architectural heritage of Shusha, which proudly holds the status of ECO Tourism Capital this year. According to Bakiyeva, the region’s rich cultural content and modern infrastructure leave a strong impression on participants.
Traditions of hospitality, characteristic of both nations, were also discussed. Gulshat Bakiyeva emphasized that despite shared ancient roots, each country has its own unique features in service and guest reception, the study of which enriches the professional experience of industry specialists. She expressed confidence that the current meeting will yield practical results and contribute to the implementation of joint projects within the ECO framework.
In conclusion, the representative of the Ministry of Culture congratulated the Azerbaijani side on the successful organization of the event and reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to strengthening humanitarian dialogue and regional partnership.
