The large-scale development of the city of Arkadag remains a constant focus of attention for the National Leader of the Turkmen people. On April 21, during a routine inspection of the construction sites for the project's second phase, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty, focused his attention on the technological infrastructure of social facilities and the aesthetics of the new urban environment.
One of the key highlights of the visit was a specialized school offering advanced instruction in foreign languages. The project—being implemented with the support of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation—is conceived as a comprehensive complex, bringing together school buildings and a 320-seat kindergarten under a single roof.
Particular emphasis has been placed on the integration of technology. Classrooms and language laboratories are being outfitted in accordance with international standards, thereby creating an environment conducive to deep immersion in academic studies and language practice. However, intellectual development is inseparable from physical well-being; consequently, the modernization plan also includes the construction of modern sports arenas.
The second phase of the city of Arkadag also serves as a platform for pioneering innovations in urban development. Projects for the "Arkadag" Center and the "Gün" power plant—which will operate on renewable energy sources—were presented to the National Leader.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed adjustments to the design of the administrative buildings, emphasizing that their architectural aesthetic must be not merely modern, but also deeply rooted in national identity. Particular attention was devoted to the aesthetics of the city at night; intelligent lighting systems are to be utilized to effectively accentuate the sculptural contours of the building facades. At the same time, functionality remains a top priority: the new office spaces are being designed to provide optimal conditions for daily operations and the hosting of international meetings.
During the working meeting, the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty drew specific attention to the pace of construction for the medical cluster’s production facilities and for the Akhalteke Atlary Avenue. Both quality standards and adherence to construction schedules remain under strict oversight; any identified deficiencies must be rectified within the shortest possible timeframe.
The next major highlight in the life of the city will be the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse. Themed events and housewarming ceremonies—specifically, the handover of keys to apartments in newly constructed residential buildings—have been scheduled to coincide with this occasion.
Looking ahead, the city anticipates another significant expansion: plans are currently being developed for the construction of a complex of buildings for the Agricultural University. This initiative serves to reinforce Arkadag’s status as a hub for innovation, science, and education.
