The leading Korean magazine “Diplomacy” published a review of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy activities in its March issue. The material was prepared at the initiative of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea and is dedicated to the results of the past year, which was held under the motto “International Year of Peace and Trust.”
The publication examines Ashgabat’s initiatives aimed at strengthening international cooperation, developing dialogue, and promoting the principles of mutual respect. It also highlights the holding of a high-level international forum in the Turkmen capital. The participation of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, is described as an important factor in strengthening Ashgabat’s role as a platform for discussing issues of global security.
The magazine also draws attention to the participation of the head of state in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, where Turkmenistan reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of multilateralism and neutrality.
Special mention is made of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. The choice of Turkmenistan as the host country is viewed in the publication as recognition of its efforts to develop transport connectivity and logistics infrastructure.
The article also focuses on the development of bilateral cooperation with the Republic of Korea. High-level negotiations outlined prospects for cooperation in technological, economic, and humanitarian fields. Among the practical outcomes, the launch of the first direct passenger flights between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea is noted.
