The national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty (People's Council), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, made a working visit to the Balkan velayat. The focus was on the readiness of the Caspian coastal infrastructure to host international forums of historic importance scheduled for 2026.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected the sites of the future forums at the Avaza National Tourist Zone, emphasizing several critical areas:
Digital Standard: Delegation reception areas and conference halls must be equipped with high-speed internet and advanced communications systems.
National Flavor: The design of exhibition pavilions and interiors will combine modern building materials with elements of national decor.
Business Approach: Project implementation is entrusted to domestic entrepreneurs, emphasizing the growing role of the private sector in national construction.
Infrastructure Inspection: Roads and Ports
During a helicopter inspection flight, the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty (People’s Council) monitored the construction of the strategic Turkmenbashi-Garabogaz-Kazakhstan border highway. This road will become a crucial link in the international transport corridor linking the region with its northern neighbors.
The operation of key industrial facilities was also inspected:
Turkmenbashi International Seaport: The port is ramping up export and import operations, actively implementing digital logistics management systems.
Garabogazkarbamid Plant: The chemical giant aims to increase production volumes and expand its export geography ahead of the end of this year.
Energy: The Avaza Power Plant is ready to provide uninterrupted power to the resort area and industrial zones during peak periods during international meetings.
The visit of the head of the Khalk Maslakhaty confirms that the country's leadership views 2026 as another "test" of logistical and organizational maturity. The modernization of Avaza is not simply a renewal of the resort, but the creation of a high-tech platform for global dialogue.
