Oriented on making people closer

During an official visit to Italy, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Stefano Pontecorvo, head of Leonardo S.p.A. The meeting took place in Rome, which the head of state described not only as a city with a rich history and culture, but also as an important political and economic center of Europe.

Stefano Pontecorvo noted that the talks held during the visit will help further strengthen ties between Turkmenistan and Italy. He added that Leonardo is honored to work on projects in Turkmenistan, a country confidently pursuing progress and development. The President, in turn, expressed confidence in the continued advancement of cooperation.

In recent years, Italy has become one of Turkmenistan's key partners in Europe, with joint projects spanning a wide range of sectors, from energy and transportation to agriculture and cutting-edge technology. Nevertheless, during the meeting, the parties discussed how to take cooperation to a new, higher level in order to launch further promising initiatives.

Stefano Pontecorvo assured the President of Turkmenistan that Leonardo will continue to fulfill its obligations responsibly, and Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan is open to a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership with the Italian company.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with a mutual desire to continue building strong business ties.

In recent times, Turkmenistan and Italy have become partners, developing cooperation in economics, technology, and other important areas. High-level visits and the participation of major players like Leonardo in Turkmenistan's projects demonstrate that the countries are committed to ambitious plans and are ready to continue mutually beneficial cooperation.

Leonardo S.p.A. is an Italian multinational corporation specializing in the aerospace industry and other related fields. The company was founded in 1948 as Finmeccanica and renamed in 2017 in honor of the great Renaissance figure Leonardo da Vinci, emphasizing innovation and creativity.

Headquartered in Rome, Leonardo actively participates in projects in Central Asia within the context of Turkmen-Italian relations, ranging from energy to high technology, particularly by helping Turkmenistan develop its infrastructure. Thus, technologies from Rome contribute to the enhancement of Turkmenistan's innovative image.
