OpenAI Develops Artificial Intelligence for Music Creation
28.10.2025 | 11:15 |OpenAI has begun work on an artificial intelligence model capable of creating music. The project is being carried out in collaboration with the American music school Juilliard, which will assist in labeling musical notes. The model will be able to generate music based on both text and audio prompts and could potentially be integrated into platforms like ChatGPT or Sora.
The tool will compete with solutions from Google, Suno, and Udio. OpenAI sees music generation as a way to increase revenue and boost user engagement on its platforms, which already have around 800 million users.

The model has commercial potential in advertising and video production. It will be able to automatically create guitar chords for vocal tracks or select background music for video content, simplifying the work of advertising agencies.
OpenAI, as with its Sora video platform, may provide rights holders with control over content and the opportunity to participate in revenue sharing. The official launch date of the music model and its integration platform has not yet been announced.
