01.09.2025 | 00:16 |The recent visit of a delegation of Turkmen women to the People's Republic of China was an important step in strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. The focus was on issues related to the future of the younger generation. The members of the delegation, led by Vice President for Medical Activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care Oguljahan Atabayeva, held a number of high-level meetings.
One of the key meetings was a conversation with Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China Huai Jinpeng. The parties discussed the importance of inclusive education and exchanged experiences in the development of children with disabilities. Oguljahan Atabayeva emphasized that the Charitable Foundation seeks to expand its activities in the field of education, and the experience of China, as one of the leading countries in this area, is of great importance. In response, the Chinese side confirmed its readiness for cooperation and exchange of methods and programs that will help ensure the full integration of children into society.
During the visit to the Song Qingling Chinese Youth Center, the Turkmen delegation got acquainted with modern teaching and education methods. Of particular interest were classes in robotics, programming and 3D modeling, as well as the department for the study of celestial bodies. This allowed them to see how China forms children's interest in science and technology, developing them harmoniously and comprehensively.
No less important was the meeting with Zeng Yixin, Deputy Chairman of the State Health Committee of the People's Republic of China. The Turkmen side expressed interest in exchanging experience in the treatment of oncological and genetic diseases in children, as well as in improving the qualifications of medical personnel. The Chinese colleagues, in turn, expressed their full readiness to share their advanced technologies and conduct joint research. Both sides emphasized that international cooperation is crucial in the fight against complex childhood diseases.
The visit culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation and the Soong Ching Ling Foundation. This document secured common intentions to implement joint socially oriented projects aimed at protecting the health of the younger generation and creating conditions for its full development.
The memorandum was signed during a meeting between Oguljahan Atabayeva and Ms. Li Bin, head of the Soong Ching Ling Foundation. During the visit, meetings were also held with Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng and Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Shen Yueyue. The meetings were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, which emphasized the high level of trust.
This visit became a vivid example of how humanitarian cooperation based on the principles of equality and mutual assistance creates a solid foundation for long-term relations between the peoples of Turkmenistan and China.
