Days of Libyan Culture are being held in Ashgabat
03.05.2025 | 01:05 |From May 1 to 3, Days of Culture of the State of Libya are being held in Turkmenistan, organized by the Embassy of this Arab state with the aim of familiarizing Turkmen citizens with the national cultural heritage and achievements of the State of Libya, strengthening bilateral cultural and humanitarian ties. The opening ceremony of the Days was held at the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan with the participation of representatives of foreign diplomatic missions, scientists, journalists, members of the public and students. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Nursahat Shirimov and Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Libya Mahmud Abdulaziz Hasan, who noted the positive dynamics of bilateral ties and the importance of cultural diplomacy in their development.
The event participants viewed the exhibition organized in the museum, which presented: Arabic calligraphy - an art form deeply rooted in Islamic culture, Libyan national costumes, literary works written in Arabic by Turkmen scholars. Photo materials posted here demonstrate the richness of the national culture and traditions, historical achievements of the Libyan people. The event also included a screening of the documentary film "Birth of the Desert". The participants of the event were offered traditional treats.
The program of the Days of Culture for May 2 includes a conference dedicated to the role of Turkmen scientists in revealing the civilizational development of mankind, enriching Islamic knowledge and the Arabic language. Scientists from the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, as well as students studying Arabic in the country's universities have been invited to it. The Days of Culture of the State of Libya in Turkmenistan will end with a joint concert of Libyan and Turkmen artists, which will be held in the evening of May 3 in the Watan cinema and concert hall.
