Macroeconomic results of the first quarter of 2025: GDP growth of Turkmenistan reaches 6.3%
05.04.2025 | 23:50 |During a session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held today, April 5th, under the chairmanship of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the results of the country's socio-economic development for the first quarter of 2025 were summarized.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov presented a report on the key macroeconomic indicators for January-March of the current year. According to the announced data, Turkmenistan's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.3% during the reporting period.
In terms of economic sectors, the transport and communications sector demonstrated the highest growth rate, amounting to 11.1%. Significant indicators were also recorded in trade (9.9%), the service sector (8.8%), and agriculture (4%). Growth in industry reached 0.3%, and in construction, it was 3.8%.
Overall, the volume of products manufactured in the country during the first three months of 2025 increased by 9.6% compared to the same period in 2024, with all sectors showing positive dynamics in production indicators.
Retail trade turnover for January-March of the current year increased by 12.3% compared to the same period last year, and foreign trade turnover increased by 2.9%. The volume of capital investments utilized from all sources of financing during the first three months of 2025 showed a significant growth of 17% compared to the corresponding period in 2024.
Thus, the presented data indicate a stable growth in the main macroeconomic indicators of Turkmenistan in the first quarter of 2025.
