The State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports and UNFPA are joining efforts to promote sports among youth

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Office in Turkmenistan, in collaboration with the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports and the public organization "Yenme" organized a large-scale sporting event in Ashgabat.

The event, held at the Olympic Village in Ashgabat, was timed to coincide with World Health Day, which is annually observed on April 7th. It brought together over 200 participants with the aim of popularizing sports among young people.

The event commenced with a mass run. Subsequently, youth participated in interactive sessions on gender equality, kickboxing and taekwondo masterclasses, and a yoga masterclass.

The initiative concluded with a performance by young gymnasts and a musical and dance group from the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports.

This event represents a significant step towards the creation of an inclusive and healthy society, where every young person, regardless of gender, has equal opportunities to participate in sports and public life. It also underscored the importance of gender equality and the role of youth in achieving sustainable development.
