Qingdao launches SCO Member States Cultural and Tourism Exchange Festival
12.03.2025 | 11:35 |On March 10, 2025, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Member States Cultural and Tourism Exchange Festival commenced in Qingdao, China. This event, organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Qingdao Municipal People's Government, coincides with Qingdao's designation as the SCO Tourism and Cultural Capital for 2024-2025.
The festival featured a presentation of the city's cultural and tourism resources, as well as an exhibition of cultural and tourism products from SCO member states. Zhao Yan, Deputy Mayor of Qingdao, stated that the city plans to develop various forms of tourism, including maritime and health tourism, and to deepen cultural cooperation with other SCO member states.
The festival program includes demonstrations of folk crafts, tastings of national dishes, displays of traditional costumes, and themed tours of Qingdao's historical sites.
The festival will continue until the end of March and will serve as an important platform for strengthening cultural ties between SCO member states.
