Euronews plans to accredit reporters in Turkmenistan and open a correspondent office in the future
27.02.2025 | 20:15 |During the meeting, the parties noted the positive experience of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Euronews, one of the world leaders in the field of multilingual information television broadcasting, and spoke in favor of developing a partnership on a systemic basis.
New formats of interaction were considered, including raising awareness of the audience about Turkmenistan's potential in the areas of culture, sports, tourism, the country's initiatives in the field of sustainable development, ecology, transport and green energy, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
Particular attention was paid to the events of international significance scheduled to be held in Turkmenistan during the current year, which, on the initiative of Turkmenistan, was declared the International Year of Peace and Trust by the UN General Assembly Resolution. In this regard, the importance of Turkmenistan's policy of positive neutrality, the 30th anniversary of which the country celebrates this year, was emphasized.
The parties discussed the possibilities of establishing new forms of cooperation by developing relevant documents that will reflect such areas as advanced training of Turkmen journalists and cooperation between Euronews and local TV channels.
The interlocutors considered the possibility of accrediting Euronews journalists in Turkmenistan with the subsequent opening of a correspondent office in Ashgabat.
