Turkmenistan and Liechtenstein establish diplomatic relations
04.11.2024 | 15:50 |Turkmenistan and the Principality of Liechtenstein signed a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations. The ceremony took place on 1 November in New York, at the office of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN.
The signing ceremony was preceded by a meeting between Turkmenistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Aksoltan Atayeva and the Permanent Representative of the Principality of Liechtenstein to the UN Christian Wenaweser, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Monday.
The diplomats reaffirmed the interest of the two countries in strengthening friendly relations and developing political, economic and humanitarian cooperation, and noted the importance of expanding cooperation in international organizations, primarily within the UN framework.
The sides discussed the UN agenda issues of interest to Turkmenistan and the Principality of Liechtenstein, in particular, strengthening of peace and trust, promotion of preventive diplomacy, international sports relations and other issues of sustainable development.
