NASA astronauts held a mini-competition on the ISS in honor of the 2024 Olympic Games
30.07.2024 | 11:45 |To commemorate the 33rd Summer Olympics in 2024, which kicked off in Paris and other French cities on July 26, six NASA astronauts aboard the International Space Station decided to hold their own mini-Olympics.
The International Space Station released a two-minute video showing astronaut activity.
The video begins with the transfer of the Olympic flame. Janet Epps passed the fire to Mike Barratt, Sunita Williams, Tracy Caldwell Dyson and finally Butch Wilmore, who is in the station dome with Earth in the background.
Afterwards, the astronauts begin to prepare for their competitions.
In conclusion, they wished all athletes successful performance at the Olympics.
“We can't imagine how hard it must be to be a world-class athlete playing a sport in real gravity. So from all of us on board the International Space Station to every athlete at the Olympic Games, good luck!” said Matthew Dominick.
