Saudi Arabia will host the first Olympic eSports Games in 2025

The holding of the e-Sports Games is provided for by an agreement signed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic and Paralympic Committee of Saudi Arabia. The agreement is designed for 12 years and is a confirmation of Saudi Arabia's leading role as a global eSports center.
The country has already hosted the World Esports Championship in Riyadh, organized by the Global Esports Federation.
The capital of the first eSports Olympic Games, dates, list of disciplines and principles of the qualification process have not been specified.
It is noted that this time the International Olympic Committee is interested in attracting such popular e-sports disciplines as Rocket League, Street Fighter and League of Legends.
The initiative to hold the e-Sports Games belongs to the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.
The Olympic eSports Games are intended to be held every two years. The USA and South Korea have already shown interest in hosting the next competitions.
