Artificial islands may appear in the Caspian Sea.

The bill “On the creation of artificial land plots in the part of the Caspian Sea (lake) belonging to the Republic of Azerbaijan” was adopted by the Parliament of Azerbaijan in the third reading.

The bill envisages the creation of both new islands and areas adjacent to existing territories.

Artificial islands are created both for defense and to attract tourists and the lives of citizens. Thus, if the project is implemented, the Caspian Sea may become a new point of attraction for tourists.
