E Ink has announced a significant innovation for laptops: a touchpad with an integrated electronic ink display. Unlike conventional solutions that merely duplicate the main display, this new development offers a dedicated workspace specifically designed for interacting with AI applications.

This innovative touchpad will enable users to:

• View AI-generated text summaries directly under their fingertips.

• Maintain a continuous dialogue with chatbots without needing to switch between windows.

The primary advantage of this device lies in its exceptional energy efficiency. Electronic ink consumes power only when the image is updated, making it an ideal choice for power-intensive AI functionalities. E Ink considers this a more practical alternative to small LCD panels, which are often inconvenient for extensive work.
