Greece hosted a ceremony to hand over the Olympic flame to the organizers of the 2024 Games in Paris

Exactly three months before the start, at the Panathinaikos Stadium, in Athens, it was held a ceremony to hand over the Olympic flame to the organizers of the Paris 2024 Games.

President of the National Olympic Committee of Greece, Spyros Kapralos, handed over the Olympic flame to the head of the Organizing Committee of the 33rd Summer Olympic Games 2024 in Paris, Tony Estanga.

The flame was brought to the Panathinaikos Stadium, where the first Olympic Games in modern history were held in 1896, by Greek athlete Antigoni Drisbioti, and the final torchbearer was the captain of the Greek national polo team, Yiannis Fundoulis, along with his teammates.

Several thousand people attended the ceremony.

According to the website of the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic flame will travel to France on the three-masted ship Belen. The fire will visit the Lascaux cave, archaeological excavations in Alesia, the medieval city of Carcassonne, the Palace of Versailles and other places. The flame will also be carried through a number of the country's architectural masterpieces, including the world-famous island of Mont Saint-Michel, castles of the Loire Valley, iconic palaces, lighthouses, bridges and arenas.

The opening ceremony of the Olympics will take place in Paris on July 26.
