Turkmenistan and Romania intensify interparliamentary dialogue
28.02.2024 | 15:04 |At the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania, it was held a meeting with the co- chairman of the interparliamentary Turkmen-Romanian friendship group, deputy Anquetillier-Karoly Kolchar.
The meeting was organized on February 27 on the initiative of the Turkmen side in order to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation and plans for the near future. The parties noted the presence of positive experience of interaction at the interparliamentary level between the two countries, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The importance of the Turkmen-Romanian interparliamentary friendship group operating between the two countries since 2017 was emphasized and it was reached an agreement to exchange the composition of national friendship groups in the near future and consider the possibility of organizing their next meeting in April or June of this year in Ashgabat.
Ambassador Annamammet Annaev, touching on the topic of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, noted that in 2022 in the city of Bursa of the Turkish Republic, at the 39th meeting of the permanent council of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), its participants, as represented by the Turkmen side, unanimously supported the proposal in honor of 300 anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, declare 2024 “The Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world - Magtymguly Fragi.”
In this context, the parties agreed to hold joint events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi.
