Turkmenistan has proposed to accredit the Envoy of the International Labour Organization in Ashgabat
The proposal of the Turkmen side to delegate a representative of the International Labour Organization to Ashgabat to coordinate work and regular dialogue with the Government of Turkmenistan was considered at a meeting between Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and the ILO Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Beata Andres.
Meredov and Andres exchanged views on the results of the high-level round table held the day before, on February 21, as well as immediate plans to expand cooperation with the ILO in 2024.
At the same time, the issues of strengthening the legal framework by joining the ILO conventions, increasing the capacity of national specialists, ensuring constant dialogue between social partners and preparing for upcoming events with the ILO, in particular for the International Labour Conference, which will be held from June 3 to 14 in Geneva, were considered.
