The immersive exhibition Van Gogh Alive runs in Tokyo from January 6 to March 31, 2024. The show traveled to 99 cities and attracted more than 9 million visitors worldwide. The Japanese capital became the 100th city to host this event. However, this is not the first time a Van Gogh exhibition has visited Japan - it has previously been held in Nagoya (2022) and Kobe (2023).

Van Gogh Alive is an immersive new experience featuring powerful projections of various large-scale works of art by Van Gogh on the vast, dark walls and floors of the vast exhibition space, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the works of art using all five senses. Viewers are taken on a journey through the life of the world's most famous artist, traveling to places such as the Netherlands, Paris, Arles, Saint-Rémy and Auvers-sur-Oise.

The combination of the latest technologies in multi-channel motion graphics, cinema-quality surround sound and high-definition projectors allows visitors to explore every corner of the artwork from every angle without a predetermined route. But the experience is just beginning here. The unique aromatization mechanism recreates the warm atmosphere of the French countryside, enhancing the sensations and bringing Van Gogh's works to life.
