Turkmen figure skaters took part in the Global Skating Academy tournament in Tashkent
30.10.2023 | 21:11 |The first Global Skating Academy tournament took place in Tashkent, in which skaters from Turkmenistan took part.
As TASS reports, 140 skaters from 21 clubs from various countries took part in the competition, including Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, UAE, Russia and Uzbekistan.
Each of the clubs was represented by a different age group. The youngest participant was born in 2018, and the eldest was born in 2005.
“Medals in the junior categories were awarded to participants from all participating countries. This encourages children to continue to engage in figure skating, as they see real results of their efforts,” Alexander Lakernik, one of the founders of the GSA project said. "We were especially careful to ensure that our competition met all international standards and requirements since this was our first competition. This is especially important to ensure that GSA continues to move in the right direction."
“All interested clubs took part in our competitions,” Lakernik noted. “For Tashkent, this was the first major start in figure skating. The winners and prize-winners of the competition showed a high level of skating. It is especially joyful to hear positive feedback from the participants and their parents. We were really able to create a real holiday of sports. We will strive to develop in this direction in the future as well. "We are already actively preparing for the tournament in Ankara, which will take place in two weeks."
